Piperazine-Functionalized Mesoporous Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles: Synthesis and Characterization

چکیده مقاله:
Mesoporous TiO2 is an interesting material for various applications such as photocatalyst and enhancement of oil recovery due to its properties such as low cost, environmental benignity, good chemical stability, excellent electronic and optical properties and continuous particle framework, which may be beneficial, compared to separated individual nanoparticles [1-4]. Herein, the mesoporous titanium dioxide nanoparticles were prepared via a sol–gel method using tetra-n-butyl orthotitanate (TBOT) and cetyl trimethylammoniumbromide (CTAB) as titania source and soft template, respectively. Then, the surface functionalization of the obtained nanoparticles were done by post grafting method using methyldimethoxysilylpropylpiperazine (MDSP). The piperazine-functionalized sample was characterized by XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption analysis, SEM and FTIR. The obtained results reveal that the sample have anatase phase, spherical morphology and the mean size value less than 50 nm. The existence of functional groups on the surface of nanoparticles was demonstrated by FTIR. The pure and functionalized nanoparticles were used for preparing of nanofluids. After surface functionalization, the stability of nanoparticles in water was increased.
