A simple green synthesis of Nickel-Cobalt ferrite nanoparticles by auto combustion method

In this research, we synthesized magnetic nickel-cobalt ferrite nanoparticles with a green method using microwave radiation. Iron (III) nitrate nonahydrate, nickel nitrate hexahydrate, cobalt nitrate hexahydrate and glycine as reactants were crushed in the presence of reactive reagents. Then, this mixture was transferred into a domestic microwave oven with a power of 600W. This reaction was completed up to 30 minutes that is so fast and significant. The product was examined by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The vibration properties of nanoparticles are analyzed by FT-IR spectrum. The XRD pattern showed that the pure phase of nickel cobalt ferrite nanoparticles is synthesized. The magnetic properties of these nanoparticles are studied for confirming the ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature. This technique is a simple, one-step synthesis without the need of calcination, the capability of industrialization, environmentally friendly, and solvent-free and can draw a usable viewpoint for the synthesis of nanomaterials.
