Copper(II) schiff base complex immobilized on core-shell Fe3O4@SiO2 as a magnetically reusable and highly efficient nanocatalyst for the green synthesis of 2-Amino-4H-chromene derivatives

A novel Fe3O4-supported copper (II) Schiff-Base complex has been synthesized through immobilization of 1,3-phenylenediamine on the silica-modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles followed by reaction with salicylaldehyde and coordination with Cu(II) ion successively. The resulted Fe3O4@SiO2-Imine/Phenoxy-Cu(II) magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were structurally characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX), Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), X‐Ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Inductively coupled plasma (ICP), Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The Fe3O4@SiO2-Imine/Phenoxy-Cu(II) MNPs performed efficient catalytic activity as a magnetically recyclable heterogeneous catalyst for the one-pot, three-component synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromene derivatives. The catalyst can be recovered by magnetic separation and recycled several times without significant loss of catalytic activity.This new and operational method montions several privileges including reusability of the nanomagnetic catalyst without any noticeable loss of activity in five cycle, the ease of the separation by using external magnetic field, high yields, without chromatography can be purified the produts, short reaction time, the simple of the work-up products.
